The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released the following substantive and comprehensive, 165-page draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR): Safety Standard for Lithium-Ion Batteries Used in Micromobility Products and Electrical Systems of Micromobility Products Containing Such Batteries. The draft NPR and 58 pages of supporting documents are available on CPSC’s website. The Agency has announced that a public hearing will be held on the NPR, which is scheduled for January 15, 2025 at 10:00 am EST. Information on the hearing is also available on CPSC’s website.
