The UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods approved last week at their meeting in Geneva, Switzerland three proposals from PRBA that will amend the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Model Regulations and the UN38.3 lithium and sodium ion battery tests found in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. PRBA coordinates with its counterpart in Europe, RECHARGE, on the lithium and sodium ion battery-related dangerous goods transport issues at these Sub-Committee meetings. PRBA and RECHARGE are therefore recognized as the voice of the battery industry at the UN international dangerous goods forums that also includes meetings hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization and International Maritime Organization.
